Heptagon Books Frequently Asked Questions

  • We have currently published romantic comedies and speculative thrillers. The genre isn’t important to Heptagon Books, but each of our stories has a clear hook. We want our readers to come away from reading one of our books feeling like they have read something different and original. No one book pleases everyone, but we take pride in the fact that they aren’t just generic stories.

    Our protagonists are all flawed, like we all are, on a journey of self-improvement. You may not even like them at the start. Our romantic heroine is insecure and harsh. The protagonists in our thrillers have issues. You won’t find invincible action heroes or impossibly perfect characters in our stories. Just real people doing their best under extraordinary circumstances.

  • Our books are 100% written by humans! A human designer has designed each of our book covers. Because of our size and limited capacity, we do use AI in some of our marketing, but our intention as we grow is to become a totally AI-free publisher.

  • Although we are a small independent publisher, we try to provide the best possible end product for our customers. A Reedsy developmental editor with experience at a major publishing house has reviewed each of our books. A professional designer has designed each of our book covers. Our books are extensively proofread. We aim to provide a product that matches the quality of a traditionally published book.

  • We are sorry, but we are too small to accept submissions for other books at this point. We support independent authors and will do our best to help if you reach out.

  • Our books are all published “wide” and are available on most major platforms.

  • Heptagon Books is always open to new marketing ideas and collaborations. You can contact us here.

    Please note that if you are contacting us from a Gmail account offering services,  we are unlikely to reply. There are so many Gmail scam emails that it is impossible to know what is genuine.
    We are always interested in hearing about marketing services, but we need a well-reviewed Fiverr/Upwork or Reedsy account source before we consider placing an order. Thank you for your understanding.

    Please note: there are lots of book club scams, so we don’t pay for our books to be selected. We would only provide a cost-effective way for you to read them.
